Job Description - Kitchen Assistant/Breakfast Server

Kitchen Assistant/Breakfast Server

Part-time. We are looking for a person whose role it is to assist with preparing breakfast (fruit starter course), setting tables, serving breakfast, clearing tables, doing dishes, vacuuming, setting tables, general kitchen cleaning and food prep for the following day.

The position requires working some weekends and holidays. sssMust be professional, reliable, friendly, well-spoken, and committed to maintaining our standard of hospitality excellence. Should be able to converse with guests during breakfast service as required.

Quantity of breakfasts served daily varies, ranges between 6-20 guests. Additional duties include:

· Mopping kitchen floors

· Folding tablecloths, napkins. Occasional ironing

· Baking cookies for guests

· Responsible for labeling, dating and monitoring of products stored in refrigeration units

· Keeping track of food and related inventory

Requirements

· Kitchen and serving experience preferred

· Strong attention to detail

· Ability to listen and communicate effectively

· Positive attitude and professional demeanor

· Willing to work as part of a team

· Must have reliable transportation

Housekeeping hours also available if interested

We are a certified living wage employer located in the Montford Historic District of Asheville.

Compensation: $23.00 per hour

Abbington Green is a AAA Four Diamond Select Registry Property built in the Colonial Revival style. We are less than a mile from downtown Asheville, and just a short 10-minute drive to the Biltmore Estate and the entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The house was completed in 1908 by Biltmore Estate's on-site supervising architect, Robert Sharpe Smith. Abbington Green is the winner of the Preservation Society's prestigious Griffin Award for excellence in historic preservation.
