Job Purpose:
The Kitchen Expeditor is responsible for ensuring that food orders are prepared and assembled correctly and efficiently in a high-paced kitchen environment. This individual acts as the liaison between the kitchen and the service staff, ensuring excellent communication, accurate plating, and prompt delivery of food to Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club members and guests.

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be available to work weekends
Prior experience in a kitchen expeditor or food runner role preferred, but not required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize tasks quickly
Ability to work cooperatively with kitchen and service staff
Able to meet the physical requirements of the role
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
Ability to lift and push up to 30 lbs. (food trays, dishes, etc.)
Comfortable working with industrial kitchen equipment and near hot food surfaces
Must be able to handle hot, cold, and moderate noise interior and outdoor conditions
Continuous repetitive motions
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
What are the Key Responsibilities?
Manage the flow of orders between the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring meals are prepared and delivered correctly and on time
Monitor food quality and presentation standards before releasing dishes to service staff
Organize incoming orders from waitstaff; prioritize and call out orders to the kitchen team
Communicate effectively with Line Cooks, Sous Chef, Chef, and waitstaff to ensure timing and accuracy
Check completed orders for accuracy, presentation, and portion sizes
Coordinate any re-fires (orders that need to be remade) quickly and professionally
Help organize the pick-up area and maintain a clean, safe, and organized expediting station
Perform side duties related to kitchen cleanliness, food prep, and stocking as needed
