Job Description - Kitchen Lead

Description

Job Title: Kitchen Lead

Reports To: Creative Day Director

Summary

Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation, maintenance

of quality standards, portion and cost control, sanitation, and cleanliness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, prepares, and serves, attractive and nutritious meals.
  • Responsible for adhering to the monthly budget.
  • Follows Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations.
  • Completes paperwork and billing.
  • Orders and tracks inventory.
  • Ensures food allergies and calories are tracked.
  • Sanitizes and cleans food service areas.
  • Creates a monthly menu.
  • Coordinates weekly lesson plan with Health Matters in mind.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education level.
  • 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Blood Borne Pathogens, Medication Administration, Systematic Instruction Strategies, Abuse/Neglect, HIPAA, Confidentiality, and Positive Behavior training.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Class E driver’s License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain ServSafe Certification (if required).
  • Must be able to pass a 10-panel drug test.
  • Must pass a background check including criminal record and driving record.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty and responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
  • Preferred: Experience working with people with developmental disabilities.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; this may be more with certain types of work assignments.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
