When looking for a Kitchen Supervisor, what should you be looking for?
You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. Also, you should be familiar with sanitation regulations. Has the ability to train, develop, and create a culture for success.
Job Requirements and Areas of Responsibility
- Overall responsibility for the kitchen daily operations.
- Responsible for food ordering.
- Interviewing and hiring new kitchen staff.
- Monitoring food waste and actual vs. theoretical.
- Controlling the BOH labor cost.
- Completing bi-weekly, or monthly inventory.
- Maintaining food quality and plate presentation standards.
- Communicating, motivating, and Couching BOH employees.
- Responsible for kitchen sanitation, personal hygiene, and daily and weekly kitchen cleanness.
- Responsible for all health codes, local health department visits, and compliance of food safety.
- This position requires commitments to a 50-55 hour work week.
- This job requires lifting up to 25 pounds.
