Kitchen Server

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fill pitchers with Ice and Water


• Prepare juices and serve to residents


• Deliver food cart to/from Apple Inn (Apple Village)


• Help cook and prepare meals when needed (17 and Older)


• Serve meals


• Set tables for each meal. Make sure that the cups and silverware are straight and even


• Clear tables of all plates, utensils and glasses-used and unused


• Wash all dishes. Scrape off any extra food into garbage. If the cook can, they will help with the pots and pans.


• Wipe down tables-wipe food and crumbs into a small bin and not onto the floor. Use the rinsing/disinfectant agent when wiping the tables.


• Wipe down chairs after every meal


• Wipe down wall in front of the dishwashing area that faces resident’s dining room (Apple Village)


• Empty garbage after every meal


• Fill condiments after every meal: butter, sugar, creamer and jam.


• Once a week, take all condiments out and send the glass containers through the dishwasher.


• Vacuum every night after dinner- be sure to get under chairs and tables.


• Dishwasher: run disposal, wipe down dishwasher, empty basket after each mealtime, turn off


• Sweep and mop floors after dinner


• Wipe down counters


• Lock back door, take down outside umbrellas and turn off lights


• Complete any other daily tasks according to cleaning checklists in the kitchen

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Watch for residents missing from mealtimes. Check with CNA’s to make sure resident is coming to meals.


• Help put stock away if you have time.


• Follow the dress code, keep all clothing neat and clean.


• Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• Stand for long periods of time; lift heavy objects, trays, garbage, etc.


• Must have a current Food Handlers permit


• B. test must be taken within 14 days of hire.


• Agree to and pass random drug screens


• Agree to and pass a criminal background check


• CPR certification


• Core Competency Training


• Understand resident rights and comply


• Report any evidence of abuse or exploitation of a resident to the facilities management
