Summary: The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen to support smooth restaurant operations. Duties include washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, glassware, and other kitchen equipment; collecting and disposing of trash; breaking down and transporting cardboard to designated dumpsters; and maintaining kitchen areas in accordance with Health Department standards. The Kitchen Steward also assists with properly storing food and non-food items, ensures the dish machine is clean and functioning properly, and maintains appropriate chemical levels according to Health Department requirements. 
 

Responsibilities:
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
• Clean tableware.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
• Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
• Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.
• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Remove trash.
• Sweep or scrub floors.
• Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
• Stock supplies, such as plates, utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, or refrigerators.
• Store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.
• Stock serving stations or dining areas with food or supplies.
• Prepare and package individual place settings.
• Package food or supplies.
• Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
• Prepare foods for cooking or serving.
• Receive and store supplies.
• Store supplies or goods in kitchens or storage areas.
• Clean garbage cans with water or steam.
• Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
• Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food or supplies.
• Clean Loading Dock
• Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
 

Qualifications:
• Strong communication skills 
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and follow instructions effectively
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and clean pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment
• Reliable and punctual with strong work ethic
