Kitchen Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong desire to lead a team of culinary professionals. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation. 

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards and that all health and safety regulations are adhered to
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
• Train new kitchen staff and provide ongoing training and support to existing staff
• Develop and implement new recipes and menu items
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Manage food costs and minimize waste
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all food service needs are met
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts
• Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role in a high-volume kitchen 
• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred 
• Strong leadership and communication skills 
• Able to read and write English (ESL)
• Excellent culinary skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously 
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow recipes and cooking techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
• Assist in training staff in the operation and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.
• Attend meetings as required by management.
• Perform any other duties as requested by management.

Education & Experience

• Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment
• Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State requirements)
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
• Must be able to show initiative in job performance including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.
• Must be effective in handling problems in the kitchen including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
