Kitchen Supervisor

The Farmhouse Restaurant, located inside The Barn Resort is hiring for an experienced and passionate kitchen supervisor who is seeking an opportunity to take their culinary journey to the next level.  We're on the lookout for a dedicated Kitchen Supervisor to join our dynamic kitchen team and be a crucial part of our exciting culinary journey!

• Proven experience as an experienced Line Cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Proficiency in various cooking techniques and a strong understanding of food safety practices.
• Ability to work well under pressure and maintain high standards of quality during busy services.
• Team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Passion for culinary innovation and a desire to contribute to a unique and memorable dining experience.
• Desire to assist in leading a BOH team in a growing resort environment
•  Perform other duties as assigned to support the department and overall operation 

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing the total set up and make sure cooks are stocking kitchen stations with all necessary supplies
• Managing the preparation of food (buffet, bar, and events possible)
• Managing the cleanliness of the kitchen and its equipment
• Assisting with coordinating and communicating needs for large events and groups
• Comply with all food-handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines as  provided
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working cooperatively with staff and guests
• Reporting to the opening and closing Sous Chefs daily

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
• 3+ years working knowledge of kitchen equipment and its proper usage
• ServSafe® Certification or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment
• Willingness to learn and follow the direction of the Kitchen and General managers and be a team player
• 3+ years previous experience as a cook is preferred. Experience in  catering, buffet, and/or full-menu dining is a plus.

Work Environment

• Operates in a kitchen/prep area environment
• Moderate to loud noise 
• Frequent exposure to variable temperature changes and steam

Physical Demands 

• Ability to Bend, Squat, Run & Physically React in a Prompt Manner 
• Ability to use hands and fingers in grasping, pinching, chopping, pulling, and lifting motions associated with preparing and cooking products using knives, utensils and cookware
• Ability to Lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for very long periods of time
