- Create home-style, nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school's budget, as well as state and federal requirements.
- Prepare and serve nutritious and delicious meals and snacks for children and staff.
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed.
- Have countless advancement opportunities through our on-going training and expansive network of centers and brands.
Professionally, work with children, families and staff.
Safety and Accountability
- Maintaining ongoing record of attendance
- Completing all written communications correctly and in a timely manner
- Maintaining line of sight and supervision of all children
Health and Nutrition
- Conducting regular inspections of eating area used by the children in their care to ensure that there are no potential health and/safety hazards
- Responsible for the care and cleanliness of the furniture, materials, and surfaces in the kitchen to ensure a healthy and safe environment
- Using and teaching appropriate health practices to include: hand-washing techniques, and food service procedures
- Feeding children according to the developmental and programmatic guidelines
Environment
- Maintaining appropriate kitchen arrangement.
- Modeling and training on the appropriate use of materials and equipment.
- Ensuring that kitchen areas are clean, organized and well-equipped
Professional Development
- Attend training, workshops and/or college courses required for the position
Other Responsibilities
- Work to promote the success of the center by being supportive, flexible, and a team player
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Work their scheduled hours.
- Able to perform all physical aspects of the position including, but not limited to: lifting up to 50lbs, getting up and down on the floor, bending to the floor, and standing for undetermined amount of time
