Job Description - LA Flagship Store Manager - Ethical Fashion
Wolf & Badger is on a mission to make retail fair. Working to support our community of 2000+ independent designers from around the globe, we connect customers with ethically sourced fashion, design, home, and beauty through our online marketplace and flagship stores in London, New York City, and Los Angeles. We are a rapidly growing scale-up business, now entering an exciting new phase of growth and looking to expand our team of 100 people, currently located between the UK & US. Our retail spaces are a convergence of our mission, purpose, and values, where the brand truly comes to life. We are excited to be recruiting an experienced Store Manager to lead the team at our flagship location on Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood.
Wolf & Badger retail locations operate in close partnership with central marketing and brand teams, with events, activations, and partnerships delivered collaboratively. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the continued growth of our presence in the California market through retail excellence, community engagement, and strong operational leadership.
What you will do:
Personify our mission and values, acting as a brand ambassador and ensuring your team delivers a world-class in-store experience for our diverse community of brands, shoppers, press, and influencers
Work collaboratively with our marketing and brand partnership teams to support the delivery of in-store events and activations, including assisting with the planning and execution of launches and other initiatives
Recruit, train, and develop retail team members, oversee scheduling and rotas, manage annual leave, support team incentives, commission structures and more.
Support the creation of social media content in collaboration with our marketing, press, and influencer teams, including styling and product loans where required
Contribute ideas and support the execution of marketing and partnership activities in collaboration with internal teams, ensuring alignment with centrally defined budgets and priorities
Take ownership of the day-to-day performance of the store, including tracking sales targets, driving KPI performance, and motivating the team to deliver strong commercial results
Build strong relationships with the independent brands represented in-store to ensure the team is equipped with detailed product knowledge
Provide ongoing coaching to your team on customer experience and operational best practices to maintain a welcoming, high-performing store environment
Oversee stock management and delivery processes, ensuring accurate handling of deliveries, inventory, and back-of-house organization, and maintaining exceptional visual merchandising standards
Significant management experience within a store, events space, showroom or similar environment (3+ years)
Commercial acumen and experience of driving initiatives which increase footfall, brand visibility and reputation as global leaders in independent fashion retail.
Experienced people manager with the ability to motivate, coach, and drive high standards of performance and professionalism among your team
Experience working on the shop floor with a strong understanding of retail operations
Experience supporting events and participating in social media content creation, and comfortable doing so
Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including hiring and training
Passionate about fashion, sustainability, and independent design
Confident in leading by example, engaging with customers and building relationships within a community-driven environment
Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with a hands-on approach
Interest in working within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and growing international business with solid retail technology skills and curiosity to analyse KPIs.
Strong stakeholder management skills.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and occasional evenings for events or activations
