We are looking for a full time Lab Administrator to manage the day-to-day operations of our research and development laboratory. The ideal candidate will support lab personnel, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain efficient administrative processes.

What You Will Be Doing:

Administrative Support:

  • Handle procurement of lab supplies, including ordering, inventory management, and vendor coordination.
  • Process and track expenses related to lab operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the lab and external parties, such as vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Managing equipment maintenance contracts, overseeing equipment calibration and repair.
  • Obtaining equipment quotes

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all lab activities comply with OSHA and Ardent safety regulations and standards.
  • Ensure safe storage and inventory of chemicals
  • Maintain and update safety documentation and procedures to ensure everyone follows workplace safety, including safety data sheets (SDS) and lab safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and coordinate training sessions for lab personnel and all staff as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with facility manager to ensure safe operation in the lab.
  • Provide administrative support for the Safety Committee

Shipping and Receiving:

  • Manage shipping and receiving lab equipment, materials, and samples.
  • Coordinate logistics for deliveries and shipments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Maintain records of incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking and inventory.

Kanban System Management:

  • Update and manage a Kanban system for efficient inventory control.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed using the Kanban approach.

Requirements

What You Will Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Business Administration) or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in an administrative or support role, preferably within a research or laboratory setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory management software.
  • Familiarity with Kanban systems or other inventory management practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to support research with hands on activities

Bonus Points

  • Experience with research and development projects.
  • Experience in a Startup environment.
  • Certification in laboratory safety or administration.
  • Experience implementing Kanban systems in a professional setting.

Salary and Benefits

Compensation for this role will be $55,000 - $70,000 annually, based on experience. A summary of our main benefits include:
