Job Description for Lab Assistant:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in various laboratory tasks, including sample preparation and analysis, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring the laboratory is clean and organized. 

Responsibilities:

• Outside institution requests (Castle, OHSU, Knight, Foundation One, etc.)  
• Chat group correspondence  
•  Filing blocks and slides daily  
• Preparing slides for Histology techs for the next day  
• Labeling H&E slides in preparation for send-out  
• Sending out H&E slides to pathologists via FedEx  
• Accessioning specimens  
• Labeling cassettes 
• Scanning requisitions and filing  
• Prepare samples for analysis
• Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
• Ensure laboratory is clean and organized
• Record data accurately and maintain records
• Follow laboratory safety guidelines and procedures
• Assist in other laboratory tasks as assigned

Requirements

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

- Strong attention to detail

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other laboratory software

- Knowledge of laboratory safety guidelines and procedures

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
