Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist

We are seeking a full-time, dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our evening team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory operations, ensuring accurate specimen collection and processing, and patient care. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing excellent patient service within a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection and processing of specimens, including blood sampling and other laboratory procedures.


• Perform venipuncture and ensure proper handling of specimens to maintain integrity for testing.


• Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring accurate documentation for patient records.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace, adhering to safety protocols.


• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care and support during laboratory procedures.


• Utilize knowledge of physiology and anatomy to assist in various laboratory tasks effectively.


• Follow established protocols for specimen collection processing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred but not required.


• Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, including specimen collection processing and blood sampling techniques.


• Knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support accurate specimen handling and patient care.


• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.


• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail.


• Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing laboratory practices.

Schedule: Evening Shift - 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m., rotating every 4th weekend and holiday rotation.

Salary & Benefits:

• $15.00 - 18.00 per hour plus shift differential for evenings and weekends.


• The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
