Lab Assistant-PRN (as needed)-Laboratory-Provo

Position Summary: We are looking for a motivated, outgoing candidate to join our laboratory staff; a candidate that wants to contribute to the health care team by performing essential laboratory testing at our East Bay Microbiology laboratory, and providing coverage as needed in our American Fork, Provo, and Salem labs. As one of our team members, you will provide support with the daily activities of the medical laboratory. Our expectation is to provide courteous and friendly service with multiple patients and offices. We expect that you will maintain a professional image in appearance and conduct; balance team and individual responsibilities to contributes to a positive work environment. Because you will interact with all ranges of providers, patients, and co-workers, must have excellent communication skills to interact effectively.

Essential Job Functions: • Demonstrate competency to provide support of the medical laboratory including performing general laboratory moderate and waived complexity tests. • Receiving and processing specimens for lab testing. • Microbiology specimen culture, and sensitivity set-up. • Performance of quality control, troubleshooting and instrument maintenance. • Perform phlebotomy and other specimen collection. • Provide an excellent customer experience with every encounter to patients and co-workers both in and out of the laboratory. • Clerical and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: • High School diploma or equivalent. • Previous phlebotomy experience required. • Previous laboratory experience preferred.

Hours: • East Bay Lab - PRN rotating Saturdays and occasional holiday shifts. Hours will vary depending upon workload. • American Fork, Provo and Salem lab PRN covering needed phlebotomy staff shifts. Hours will vary according to the needs of the laboratory.
