Lab Integration Specialist - Quality Assurance (Float)

NY Health (NYH) is excited to expand our medical services to include the Center for Urology, Primary Care, The Nephrology Center, and The Department of Physical Therapy. With multiple locations spanning from the Bronx and Queens to Suffolk County, our healthcare experts are available and prepared to put your health first.

In this role, you will:
  • Float to NYCBS/NYH locations as required. 
  • Develops and delivers training to new and existing NYCBS/NY Health team member
  • Ensure compliance and quality assurance with all Laboratory policies and procedure
  • Resolving operational and technical issues as appropriate
  • Assess team member’s training/retraining needs and develop improvement plans
  • Develop positive work relationships with new team members and serve as a resource in their transition.
  • Support program directors in developing and implementing programs.
  • Collaborate in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Plan and prioritize retraining activities for best efficiency and effectiveness
  • Participate in all mandatory meetings.
  • Effectively and creatively problem-solve and manage change within the Implementation team
  • Ensure a high level of quality assurance and quality standards within all NYCBS/NY Health Laboratories.
  • Manage orientating all new hires & training them in all aspects of laboratory duties
  • Manage training all employees according to SOP in all laboratory aspects until complete understanding is met.
  • Revisit offices & employees following up on previously implemented policies and procedures
  • Standardize practices at all offices according to the best workflows are in place
  • Train & implement new ideas to improve daily workflow
  • Teach all lab employees the best time management skills to safely and correctly perform their daily workflow to minimize the use of OT
  • Onboard new locations for all laboratory procedures and workflow
  • Report any issues to the QA/QC Supervisor 
We require:
  • A minimum of five years clinical or related field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Word/Excel.
  • An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communications based on that understanding.
  • Willingness to take action and eager to accept new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
  • A good decision-maker, with proven success in making timely decisions that maintain high standards within the organization.
  • Travel to any of the NYCBS/NY Health locations.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish a plus.
Hours: Days, Monday-Friday & flexible as needed during project implementations.
Hours: Monday–Friday
Salary up to $28hr. based on experience and education. Benefits include Tuition Reimbursement, Health Insurance on day 1 of employment, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short and Long-term disability, 401k Plan, generous PTO time, 8 paid holidays (2 floating), and more.
