Lab Technician

Description

Job Summary:

The Lab Technician performs engineering testing, analysis and reporting and assists engineers with product, production, and field testing. Performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records in standard formats and analyzes results. Assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve identified problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing. Help prepare proposals and cost estimates to establish completion dates and meet Company goals.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Provides technical support to engineers to ensure production goals of the organization are met; assists with testing of components, process, equipment, controls, instruments, and machinery.
• Assist with troubleshooting and debugging as needed.
• Provides engineering assistance related to the review of existing and design of new products and processes.
• Conducts flow, pressure, and restriction testing.
• Assists engineering resources in developing prototypes, evaluating mechanical and fabrication processes, hardware fabrication, and electrical wiring. 
• Assists in prototyping, modeling, and project scoping of engineering studies. 

Required Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to utilize Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Software to conduct testing.
• Provide various testing, analysis, and projects to support Engineering.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with CAD and CAE software
• Engineering and production support experience and equipment evaluation.

Education and Experience: 

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of like experience utilizing CAD and CAE Software, testing equipment, and robotic troubleshooting
• Previous experience with fabrication equipment including drill presses, mills, and saws a plus.

Physical Requirements: 

• Periods of sitting, standing, and walking in a production and      warehouse environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 20lbs at times.
• Normal auditory, visual acuity, and dexterity
