In this role, you’ll use strong analytical skills and scheduling expertise to support our Can Make, Can Fill, and Logistics teams. You’ll work closely with department leaders and HR to build efficient labor schedules based on production forecasts, skill matrices, and staffing needs. Being proactive, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy will be key, especially when adjusting to shifting operational demands.  The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of labor regulations, scheduling best practices, and workforce planning tools, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong organizational skills, emotional intelligence, and clear communication are essential, as this role works cross-functionally to balance business priorities with a people-first mindset. A problem-solving approach and the ability to make quick, informed decisions will ensure success in this critical position. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long-term labor schedules based on production needs.
• Monitor employee availability, PTO planning, and skill levels to ensure qualified coverage.
• Adjust schedules in real-time to respond to changes in production or attendance.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR, and team leaders to understand staffing requirements.
• Use workforce management tools and Excel to optimize labor and control overtime.
• Ensure scheduling compliance with labor laws, company policies, and safety standards.
• Provide reports on labor utilization, efficiency, and schedule adherence.

Requirements

Skills/ Knowledge:

Works on assignments that are complex in nature, requiring considerable judgment, analysis, and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations. Serves as a liaison with internal and/or external contacts to align labor scheduling with business needs. Strong understanding of labor management principles, scheduling techniques, and workforce optimization in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of safety regulations and labor laws applicable to manufacturing operations. Exceptional organizational and communication skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. The candidate must also demonstrate a problem-solving mindset and be capable of making real-time decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Computer Skills: 

Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to work with data analysis tools for labor forecasting and reporting.

Education and Experience:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred with 2+ years of experience in workforce scheduling or production planning within a manufacturing environment. Experience in food and beverage or high-speed manufacturing environment and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and labor cost optimization strategies preferred.
