Laboratory Aide - Lab of Yvonne Fondufe-Mittendorf

Van Andel Institute’s (VAI) Laboratory of Yvonne Fondufe-Mittendorf, Ph.D. is seeking a Laboratory Aide for a full-time, temporary position (40 hours per week). This appointment is expected to run from March 2026 through August 2026.

FUNCTIONS:

• Conduct structured experiments

• Apply standard quality control procedures to assure the quality of test results.

• Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on specialized research equipment.

• Work with Investigator and/or designee to resolve problems in the execution of experiments.

• May prepare solutions, reagents, media, or stains necessary for experimental procedures.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED, but a Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent experience.

• Additional biology and biochemistry lab experience is strongly preferred.

• Casual knowledge of cleaning materials and techniques, and an understanding of laboratory operations, is desirable; frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds is required.

• Must be detail-oriented, organized, capable of maintaining thorough records, and be able to work independently.
