Laboratory Operations Assistant - Entry Level_

The Integrated Genetics Division of Labcorp is seeking a Cytogenetics Laboratory Operations Assistant to join their team in Research Triangle Park, NC! This position will be responsible for supporting the Cytogenetics microarray laboratory with various duties including: requisition checking, communicating with various departments on status of specimens, and other general support duties.
The schedule for this position will be Sunday – Thursday, 10:00am – 6:30pm.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Requisition checking: ensure Cytogenetics testing is ordered correctly and patient information is correctly documented
+ General lab support duties
+ Effectively communicate with client services, genetic counselors and other Cytogenetics teams.
+ Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and think critically regarding testing
+ Partner closely with leadership and customers to set and drive strategy, goals, process, and metrics
**Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
+ Associates degree highly preferred
+ Previous experience in the medical field highly desired
+ Attention to detail and critical thinking skills
+ Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
+ Strong computer skills and working knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
