Laboratory Supervisor - Unlimited Growth Potential

We are hiring for a lab supervisor for a well-known private lab in Queens, NY!

Qualifications:

1. NYS State Medical Technologist license

2. Minimum of 4 years experience working as a technologist in a clinical lab (hematology/generalist experience preferred)

3. 1 year of leadership experience either in supervisor or lead role

4. strong communication skills, able to communicate via email, comfortable with share drive, Microsoft outlook

Job Duties:

• Supervisor is running the floor, able to provide guidance, watch the floor, make sure things are running smoothly, be a resource, have to help on bench when needed.
• Prepared to do reviews of documentation, prioritize work flow and reviews. Individual must be detail oriented with documentation and know what to look out for.
• Well versed with analyzer, still required training but someone who has worked with hematology analyzers.
• They will be supervising a team of 10-12 technologists
• Responsible for scheduling
• Perform routine CBC, Platelet Concentrate Quality control, Nageotte Procedure for counting WBC (This counting method describes a procedure for visual counting of leukocytes present in leukodepleted blood or packed red cells products), pH testing of Platelets, and processing and examination of peripheral blood smears.
• Microbiology Testing
• SDP Bacterial Impurities Alert (procedure includes sampling and inoculation by using BPA culture bottle to detect aerobic microorganisms in blood)
