Job Summary:

SPL is growing and is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician I in Freeport, TX. The Laboratory Technician I must be team oriented, proactive, and goal driven. This position will perform a standard set of physical property testing, chemical composition testing, sampling, sample receipt and data report generation functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Receives and logs samples into the computer system;
  • Calculates and report data results;
  • Assist with Statistical Quality Control testing, calibrations and preventative maintenance;
  • Obtains representative samples at various client locations such as tanks and gas pumps;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work overnight shifts;
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office suite to perform job functions;
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations including algebra and statistics;
  • Valid driver license and auto insurance required.

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree in Chemistry or other science highly preferred.

Relocation:

This position is not eligible for relocation.

Travel Requirements:

This position does not require travel.

Work Schedule:

This position will work overnight shifts 4 days on/4 days off for 12 hours per day in SPL's Freeport, TX location. This position is subject to overtime availability to meet deadlines and is required to be part of the "On Call" program on a rotating schedule. These hours can be extended into weekends and holidays.
