Laboratory Technician II or III

Yeh and Associates, Inc.  is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. This position may be filled at either Lab Tech II or Lab Tech III level, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and certifications. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to advance into the Laboratory Supervisor role after demonstrating strong performance and achieving required certifications.

As a Laboratory Technician, you will support our Laboratory Supervisor, engineers, and geologists in applying engineering and scientific techniques to infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include laboratory testing, equipment calibration and maintenance, quality control processes, and contributing to accreditation activities.

Lab Tech II Requirements
Candidates for Lab Tech II should demonstrate:

• Reliability, self-motivation, and strong technical thinking skills
• Experience with laboratory testing and equipment maintenance
• Participation in AASHTO or CCRL accreditation events
• Attention to detail with lab procedures, calculations, and test results
• The following minimum certifications: ACI Field, ACI Strength, LabCAT A & B, CDOT Tester/Sampler, OSHA 10 hr, Radiation Safety/Hazmat, and WAQTC Testing & Inspection

Lab Tech III Requirements
Candidates for Lab Tech III should demonstrate all the above, plus:

• More independent work assignments
• Mentoring or training of junior testers
• Participation in geotechnical drilling/logging
• Engagement in quality control processes
• The following minimum certifications, in addition to those required for Lab Tech II: ACI Aggregate I & II, ACI Lab I, and LabCAT E

Advancement Opportunities

• Lab Tech II to Lab Tech III: Promotion occurs once all additional certifications are earned and the candidate demonstrates proficiency in laboratory and field duties.
• Lab Tech III to Laboratory Supervisor: Promotion occurs after obtaining the following certifications and demonstrating strong leadership and technical proficiency: OSHA 30 hr., ACI Lab II, LabCAT C, Radiation RSO, and CDOT’s ASTER software
