Laboratory Technician - Temp to Hire Oppertunity!

Eurofins Built Environment Testing is proactively seeking a temp -to hire Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Naperville site. This position will be offered as a temporary position, with a review after 90 days to confirm if a full time position would be offered. The position can also be offered as temporary, if preferred. 

The Microbiology Technician will need a solid understanding of microbiological techniques, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, repetitive environment.

Sucessful training for position must be completed within two weeks of the start date. Training will consist of filtering and plating biological concentrates. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine microbiological laboratory procedures and analyses
• Maintain, calibrate, clean and test sterility of lab equipment
• Isolate and make cultures of bacteria or other microorganisms
• Document all data and results in specified forms
• Conduct microbial analyses of samples collected from various sources
• Adhere to correct procedures, policies, and health/safety guidelines
• Prepare specimens and samples for testing
• Work in compliance with laboratory safety standards
• Prepare detailed reports of laboratory results and findings

• Associates or BS degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
• Proven work experience as a Microbiology Laboratory Technician or in transferable laboratory setting 
• Hands-on experience with relevant equipment, procedures, and safety regulations
• Knowledge of modern microbiological techniques
• Experience in preparing cultures of bacteria and other microorganisms
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Position is located onsite, at our Napeverville location. Hours would be Monday- Friday, 10 AM- 6 PM with occasional weekend work and mandatory OT as needed. Time may be flexible depending on workload. 

Position Range- $20.00- $22.00/hr depending on experience.
