Laborer ( Shop)

Description

 We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Shop Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with various manual labor tasks within the shop, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. This position involves handling materials, maintaining shop cleanliness, assisting with equipment, and supporting shop operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• General Labor: Perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment around the shop or warehouse.
• Material Handling: Assist in organizing and sorting raw materials, parts, and finished products.
• Shop Maintenance: Ensure the shop area is clean and organized, including sweeping, disposing of waste, and maintaining equipment storage areas.
• Loading and Unloading: Help load and unload trucks and trailers, ensuring materials are safely transported.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, ensuring proper use of protective equipment and reporting hazards to supervisors.
• Tool Management: Maintain and properly store tools and equipment used in the shop, ensuring everything is in good working condition.
• Inventory Assistance: Help monitor inventory levels and assist with stocktaking or ordering materials when needed.
• Miscellaneous Tasks: Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth shop operations.

Working Conditions

• Full-time, Monday thru Friday
• Overtime may be required during peak periods
• Work is performed in a shop environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
• Protective gear such as gloves, safety goggles, and ear protection is required.

Requirements

• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs).
• Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions and ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals.
• Safety Conscious: Familiarity with safety procedures and the ability to adhere to safety protocols.
• Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse, construction, or manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of tools and equipment commonly used in the shop environment is an advantage.
