Job Title: Lacquer Prep and Spray

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Inspect and rack instrument parts for cleaning and lacquering
2. Wrap and box instrument parts to be sent out for plating
3. Analyze information, report results, document, and promote process improvement
4. Comply with all Elkhart North policies and procedures
5. Comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements
6. Maintain a clean and orderly work area
7. Back-up to Lacquer Sprayer

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Inspect and rack instrument parts for cleaning
2. Rack small parts for cleaning and lacquering
3. Rack top and bottom caps for lacquering.
4. Maintain quality standards, in-process production, and record quality results
5. Grease and fit trumpet slides for plating
6. Wrap special horns for plating
7. Box trombone slides for plating
8. Complete paperwork for Anderson plating
9. Other duties as assigned

PRE-DETERMINED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Regular attendance
2. Must be able to understand written and verbal instruction
3. Quality inspection experience
4. Experience in paint or lacquer room

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to lift racks overhead for cleaning tanks; ability to lift up to 20 lbs. unassisted
2. Ability to stand and walk for entire shift
3. Ability to bring objects into sharp focus visually
4. Occasional bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting
5. Constant reaching and grasping
6. Exposure to corrosive chemicals, dust, and noise
7. Ability to make judgments, perform under stress, perform a variety of duties, and attain tolerance to specified standards
