Summary/Objective
The Land Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Texas Land team by assisting with contract preparation, document management, regulatory research, and prospect tracking. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with Landmen and other key team members to ensure efficient land operations



Essential Functions

  1. Assist Landmen with agreement exhibits, attachments, and related documentation.

  2. Prepare correspondence, contracts, mineral owner presentations, and other file-related documents.

  3. Maintain organized records of all in-house generated contracts and manage document filing.

  4. Research and retrieve leases, contracts, and regulatory orders as directed.

  5. Coordinate with Landmen to ensure proper filing and recording of documents with county offices.

  6. Aggregate, analyze, and manage land-related and Texas Railroad Commission (TRRC)-related data from various sources.

  7. Support the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, and reports.


Competencies



  1. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  3. Familiarity with land management systems and TRRC regulatory tools is preferred.

  4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  5. Ability to collaborate effectively with Landmen.

  6. Self-starter and desire to work hard.


Supervisory Responsibility
This position is an individual contributor to the department and is responsible for their individual performance management within that department. 



Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The ability to lift office equipment up to 25 pounds may be necessary on occasion.


The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the production areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. 



Physical Demands
This position is located at the Cresta Exploration corporate office and is not a high risk for an injury environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.



Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. There is a reasonable expectation of employees to check their messages via electronic media after normal work hours.



Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. 



Required Education and Experience: 



  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  2. Four (4) to six (6) years of related experience or training

  3. Texas Oil & Gas land contract experience.


Preferred Education and Experience



  1. Certified Professional Lease and Title Analyst (CPLTA) Certification

  2. AAPL membership and/or certification
