Land Vehicle Technician

Job Summary:

The Land Vehicle technicians is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting cars, light trucks, and other vehicles. This position will report to the Mechanical Lead, Celebration Key.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• 
  Perform maintenance and repair on company vehicles.


• 
  Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment.


• 
  Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.


• 
  Plan repair procedures using manuals and experience.


• 
  Test the functionality of parts and systems.


• 
  Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.


• 
  Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts.


• 
  Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.


• 
  Prepared to get additional certification as needed.


• 
  Willingness to learn with hands-on training.


• 
  Helps to keep the repair shop clean and organized.


• 
  Keeps a professional appearance.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 
  2 years automotive and engine repair experience or auto mechanic training required.


• 
  ASE certifications required.


• 
  Hold a valid driver license.

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS:

• 
  Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service.


• 
  Must read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.


• 
  Perform routine maintenance and other tasks in a fast-paced environment.


• 
  May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs.


• 
  High school diploma or equivalent required.


• 
  Experience as a lube technician or prepared to do on-the-job training.


• 
  Understanding of automotive air-conditioning systems.


• 
  Ability to use diagnostic equipment.


• 
  Experience with heavy equipment and as a diesel mechanic, diesel engine knowledge, or prepared to do on-the-job training.


• 
  Good hand-eye coordination


• 
  Collect and record data.

  Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with employees and guests.

  Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, managers and co-workers.
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  Must be physically fit.

  Must have strong customer service skills.

  Ability to work in an outdoor environment.


• 
  Prolonged periods standing and working outdoors.


• 
  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.


• 
  All island employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use/range of motion of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency.


• 
  Ability to multi-task and think critically.


• 
  Previous work experience preferred.
  

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

• 
  Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.


• 
  Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.


• 
  May be required to work shifts.
