Landscape Architect

Shive-Hattery's Lincoln, NE office has an immediate opening for Landscape Architect with 7 to 10 years of experience.

As a fully competent landscape architect in all conventional aspects of the subject matter or the

functional area of the assignments; plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent

evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures,

and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Registration as a Licensed Architect

is required. Performs landscape architectural assignments under general

supervision. Selects and determines procedures in landscape architectural matters. Writes reports and

specifications. Checks completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations. Prepares landscape architectural

plans and renderings, supervises preparation of landscape architectural plans, consults manufacturers, evaluates

and selects materials, and inspects landscape architectural features of structures in the field. Independently

performs most assignments with instructions as to the general results expected. Must be computer

literate. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory quality control approval on

proposed plans for projects. Will work with the team leader to assist in marketing and business development with selected clients

or prospective clients. May serve as project manager on projects with a tightly defined scope. Will

supervise a few landscape architects, designers, or drafters on assigned work and mentor and teach through the project process.

Requirements:

• Registration as a Licensed Landscape Architect is a requirement. 
• Must be computer literate in AutoCAD/LandFX and/or REVIT, Adobe Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. 
• 3D rendering programs are a requirement.
• Lead projects from schematic design to documentation and construction observation.
• Perform marketing and business development activities as a leader and focus on retaining and growing clients and projects. This will require occasional travel. 
• Candidate will work with a remote landscape architecture team and report to the head of the team.
• Good interpersonal, written, presentation and verbal communication skills
• Exhibits accuracy, attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Assist senior staff and project managers in the development of project deliverables, work scope and budgets.
• A general understanding of the field of landscape architecture and the ability to collaborate across discipline boundaries to support the delivery of solutions which meet client expectations is essential in order to successfully meet the requirements of this position.

• Contributing to or leading the development of cost estimates and design details for construction documents
• Creating plant palettes and landscape design recommendations
• Supporting project objectives such as developing conceptual master plans, 3D renderings and other design elements to meet appropriate project requirements
• Assisting in or leading the design or redesign of parks, streets, trails, education, commercial or healthcare/institutional sites.
