Our client currently has a wide range of projects in the south to be delivered as part of a collaborative framework with a key public-sector client, focused on providing resilience to the predicted adverse effects of climate change, particularly coastal and fluvial erosion, and flooding.
These projects range from small sites to extensive, landscape-scale strategies. We are therefore looking for a well-rounded candidate with an interest in supporting the team with a wide range of activities on these projects and, in doing so, developing their own skills and experience.
The role would include:
Baseline data research and spatial mapping [CAD/GIS/Word] for land uses, landscape character, planning policy, designations etc. Opportunities and constraints mapping [CAD/GIS/Adobe Suite] for green-blue infrastructure, landscape mitigation, and connectivity. Developing graphic visioning documents, incorporating the above [InDesign/Word]. Technical report writing and associated drawings for landscape & visual appraisal (LVA) and impact assessment (LVIA) [Word/GIS/InDesign]. Landscape design for resilience projects from concept through to construction packages, including drawing production in CAD and preparation of specifications and landscape management plans, and for some projects, preparing design statements with written and graphic outputs. Illustrations and montages of proposals where required on selected projects. Organising and undertaking site visits to support the above work may extend beyond a single day of work, requiring a stay away from home for one or more nights. Collaborating with other discipline colleagues. Where required, support with liaison with clients and stakeholders.
