Job Description - Landscape Designer

Are you passionate about creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces? Do you thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced design environment? Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is looking for a talented Landscape Designer to join our Towson, Maryland office. In this role, you’ll contribute to a wide variety of projects - from commercial and institutional developments to residential and mixed-use communities. If you're ready to bring your creativity and technical skills to life in real-world designs, we want to hear from you!

What You’ll Do


  • Assist in the conceptual planning and design of new land development projects

  • Create detailed site plans, including:


    • Landscape layouts

    • Grading and stormwater planting plans

    • Forest stand delineations

    • Forest conservation plans


  • Develop visually compelling presentation graphics, exhibits, and renderings

  • Prepare construction documents: layout plans, construction details, and specifications

  • Draft feasibility studies, forest stand reports, and waiver requests

  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers throughout the planning and design process

What We’re Looking For


  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture

  • Up to 3 years of experience in site planning and landscape design

  • Solid understanding of land development policies, regulations, and approval processes

  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design tools such as Civil 3D, SketchUp, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office
