This salaried position is regularly scheduled for Monday through Friday, 7:30 - 4:00 PM.
Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude:
Managing, scheduling, planning, and supervising staff involved in the year-round 4-season day-to-day maintenance of Kendal's landscapes, grounds, roadways, sidewalks, and courtyards.
Planning, organizing, and controlling job assignments for staff.
Being directly involved in: the design, planting, and maintenance of landscape beds; implementing new projects, garden design, and all aspects of the budget process.
Promoting and maintaining the beauty and sustainable landscape of the property.
Supervising and leading all work order tasks.
Snow removal and mitigation of fall related hazards.
Maintaining all outdoor furniture and coordinating repair/replacement as needed.
Supervising and maintaining all controlled gardens and caring for all trees and shrubs.
Providing walkway maintenance in both the present year and for long-range planning.
Acting as a liaison and advisor to the residents and all associated committees.
Required qualifications:
Associates degree or higher in Plant Science, Horticulture, or related field for landscape management and 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Aminimumof 3 years of leadership/supervisory experience in a grounds or facilities position.
A valid, unexpired driver's license.
Ability to occasionally lift weights up to 50 pounds.
Ability to travel throughout buildings and grounds.
Knowledge of appropriate skills needed for communicating with all age groups, including the geriatric population.
Computer literacy and experience completing work orders and using work order systems.
Availability on nights and weekends depending on operational need.
