Position Summary:

Halter is seeking a motivated Landscaping & Arborist Crew Member to join our field operations. This is a hybrid role, with time split between our Landscaping division and our Tree Services division. This position is ideal for someone interested in developing professional arborist skills while remaining involved in landscape maintenance operations.

Responsibilities:

Landscaping Responsibilities:

• Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and site cleanup


• Assist with general landscaping tasks such as mulching, planting, bed maintenance, and seasonal services


• Safely operate lawn and landscape equipment


• Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites


• Follow company quality standards and safety procedures
  
  

Arborist / Tree Services Responsibilities:

• Assist certified arborists and tree crews with pruning, removals, and tree health care operations


• Support safe rigging, climbing, and aerial lift operations as trained


• Perform ground-based arborist duties including brush handling, chipping, and log management


• Operate chainsaws, chippers, and other arborist equipment in accordance with safety standards


• Learn and apply proper arboricultural techniques, including pruning standards and tree care best practices


• Maintain constant situational awareness around active tree work zones
  
  

General Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with crew leaders and team members


• Communicate job progress, concerns, and equipment needs


• Represent Halter professionally on all job sites


• Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and PPE requirements
  
  

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation


• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions


• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds


• Strong interest in arboriculture and willingness to learn professional tree care skills


• Ability to follow directions and work well within a team


• Prior landscaping or tree care experience preferred but not required


• Chainsaw experience or formal arborist training is a plus


• Willingness to pursue arborist certifications and safety training
