Responsibilities:
- Residential Landscaping
- Design and install plant beds, gardens, shrubs, trees, and lawn areas tailored to each homeowner’s style and property conditions.
- Provide ongoing landscape maintenance including pruning, mulching, fertilizing, and seasonal cleanups.
- Recommend plant selections based on sunlight, soil, drainage, and long‑term growth patterns.
- Install and maintain residential irrigation systems to ensure efficient watering.
- Residential Hardscaping
- Build patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, steps, and other structural features using pavers, stone, brick, or concrete.
- Construct outdoor living elements such as fire pits, seating walls, garden borders, and small water features.
- Ensure all hardscape installations are level, durable, and visually cohesive with the home’s architecture.
- Operate equipment such as compactors, saws, skid steers, and grading tools safely and effectively.
- Client Interaction & Project Execution
- Ability to communicate with homeowners to understand their goals, preferences, and budget.
- Provide clear recommendations, material options, and design ideas that suit residential lifestyles.
- Maintain clean, organized job sites with minimal disruption to the homeowner’s daily routine.
- Communicate progress, timelines, and any changes in a professional, friendly manner.
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Diagnose issues with existing landscapes or hardscapes and provide practical solutions.
- Perform repairs on patios, walkways, drainage systems, and plantings as needed.
Qualifications:
- 1–3+ years of experience in residential landscaping and/or hardscaping.
- Possesses a valid NC Driver’s License and is insurable by company insurance carriers (at least last 3 years of clean record).
- Strong understanding of horticulture, grading, drainage, and outdoor construction methods.
- Ability to read simple design plans or sketches and translate them into finished work.
- Physical stamina and comfort working outdoors year‑round. Must be able to work for long periods of physical activity, including but not limited to-bending, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling & squatting.
- Proficiency with landscaping tools, power equipment, and small machinery.
- Ability to safely handle truck & trailer combination/ large dump bed trucks (non CDL).
- Demonstrated ability for safe and proper operation of basic landscaping equipment including hand tools, small electric power tools, tillers, foot & plate tamps, concrete chop saws, compact equipment (Dingo & attachments), and skid-steer loader.
- Demonstrated skill and ability in customer service communication and interaction.
- Familiar with standard company & industry best management practices in the landscape construction field.
- Must be able to work around bees, poisonous plants, pollen and other environmental hazards.
