Job Description - Laser Finishing Operator

Here at MakeStickers, we make ordering stickers and labels easy! Our company is a frontrunner in producing high-quality stickers and labels with fast turnaround times. We're looking for a Laser Finishing Operator to cut stickers and labels at our production facility in Tinley Park, IL. The ideal candidate is driven by curiosity, thrives while working with others, and has a growth mindset.

SUMMARY
In this role, you will oversee the operation of automated laser cutting equipment to cut stickers and labels according to specifications. On-the-job training will be provided, but reliability and communication are essential to success. Experience with operating and troubleshooting machinery is preferred but optional. 

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week

Training Schedule
Monday through Friday 10:00am-6:30pm

Regular schedule
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 11:30am-8:00pm
Thursday, Friday 10:00am-6:30pm*

*MUST be able to work until 8:00pm if needed or during busy seasons

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor machine operation to ensure proper cutting and quality of finished products.
  • Set up the machine between runs to exact specifications. 
  • Inspect materials before and after cutting to verify accuracy and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on the laser cutting machine as needed.
  • Communicate errors or issues to the proper teammates. 
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and orders.
  • Make suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Closing procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates degree or above required/preferred
  • Experience in operating computer-controlled equipment, including systems used for digital printing, is preferred but optional
  • Basic math skills and ability to do conversions between metric and standard systems. 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 60 lbs., bending, squatting, overhead reaching, frequent walking, and using hands for manual tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
  • Amazing communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Aptitude for mechanical operation, manufacturing processes and procedures
