We are seeking a highly qualified Lateral Associate to join a leading Antitrust and Competition team in Palo Alto, CA. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes antitrust matters, representing clients in cutting-edge cases and shaping the future of competition law.
Antitrust Expertise and Leadership
This opportunity is with a globally recognized law firm known for its exceptional Antitrust and Competition practice. Highlights of this team's expertise include:
Litigation Excellence: Handling complex monopolization claims, price-fixing disputes, and antitrust class actions in state and federal courts.
Regulatory Insight: Representing clients in merger reviews, compliance matters, and investigations by the DOJ and FTC.
Global Impact: Advising multinational corporations on cross-border antitrust challenges and compliance strategies.
Criminal Defense Leadership: Defending clients in criminal antitrust investigations, including cartel and bid-rigging allegations.
Appellate Advocacy: Securing landmark decisions in appellate courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
In this position, you will:
Represent clients in high-profile civil litigation, DOJ/FTC civil conduct investigations, and criminal enforcement matters.
Advise on merger reviews, antitrust compliance, and regulatory strategies.
Draft and review pleadings, motions, and legal briefs for complex cases.
Develop innovative legal strategies for clients navigating multifaceted antitrust challenges.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide comprehensive legal counsel.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes:
Experience and Expertise
Experience: 2 to 6 years of experience (law school class years 2018-2022) in antitrust litigation, government investigations, or compliance matters.
Government Service Advantage: Experience working with DOJ/FTC enforcement agencies or prior government service is highly preferred.
Educational Credentials
Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from a top-tier, accredited law school with excellent academic performance.
Core Competencies
Antitrust Knowledge: Substantive understanding of U.S. antitrust laws, including the Sherman Act, Clayton Act, and FTC Act.
Strategic Vision: Proven ability to craft and implement innovative legal strategies.
Analytical Excellence: Strong legal research and writing skills for developing compelling arguments.
Collaboration and Leadership: Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior associates.
Additional Attributes
Admission to the California Bar or eligibility to waive into California.
Familiarity with Federal Circuit appellate practice and criminal enforcement matters is highly valued.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to solving legal challenges.
