We are seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to join a prominent labor and employment team in Washington, D.C. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile employer-side litigation, providing strategic advice and counsel to leading organizations.
Practice Expertise and Focus
This opportunity is with a top-tier law firm known for its cutting-edge labor and employment practice. The role includes:
Employer-Side Litigation: Representing employers in complex class and representative actions, including wage and hour disputes and discrimination cases.
Advisory and Investigations Work: Offering strategic guidance on employment policies and conducting workplace investigations.
Class Actions Expertise: Managing large-scale class and representative action litigation with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
Collaborative Culture: Partnering with a team of industry-leading attorneys to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
In this position, you will:
Represent employers in high-stakes litigation, focusing on class and representative actions in wage and hour and discrimination matters.
Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including crafting policies and addressing workplace challenges.
Conduct internal investigations to mitigate risk and resolve complex employment disputes.
Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, and agreements, with precision and attention to detail.
Collaborate with team members and clients to deliver creative, effective solutions to complex labor and employment challenges.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications and attributes:
Experience and Expertise
Experience Level: Law school graduate from 2016 to 2020 with at least three years of experience in a peer law firms employment practice.
Subject Matter Expertise: Strong background in employer-side litigation and familiarity with class and representative actions.
Educational Credentials
Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from a top-tier, accredited law school with excellent academic performance.
Bar Admission: Active membership in good standing or eligibility to waive into the D.C. Bar.
Core Competencies
Legal Acumen: Expertise in employment law, including litigation strategy and risk management.
Litigation Skills: Strong ability to manage high-profile class action disputes and representative litigation.
Client Focus: A track record of delivering tailored and effective legal solutions to diverse clients.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to distill complex legal issues for clients and colleagues.
