The Role: Lateral Associate - White Collar | Los Angeles, CA

Gibson Dunn's Los Angeles Office is seeking accomplished associates with white-collar litigation expertise to join its prestigious legal team. This position provides the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, collaborate with leading attorneys, and contribute to groundbreaking legal strategies.

Practice Focus and Expertise

The White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Group at Gibson Dunn is globally recognized for handling some of the most complex and significant cases in white-collar law. Key focus areas include:

• Government Investigations: Representing corporations and individuals in investigations led by the DOJ, SEC, and other enforcement agencies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Advising on compliance with anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and other regulatory frameworks, including the FCPA.
• Internal Investigations: Conducting internal investigations on behalf of global corporations to assess and address allegations of misconduct.
• Litigation: Defending clients in high-stakes white-collar criminal cases, including securities fraud, antitrust, and healthcare fraud.

In this position, you will:

• Represent clients in white-collar defense, government investigations, and enforcement actions.
• Advise corporations on compliance programs and conduct internal investigations.
• Draft motions, briefs, and other litigation materials with exceptional quality and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with a globally recognized team to address cutting-edge legal challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications and attributes:

Experience and Expertise

• Class Year Eligibility: Law school graduate from 2021 and beyond with relevant experience in white-collar defense or related fields.
• Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with FCPA, securities laws, anti-corruption regulations, and other key frameworks governing corporate compliance.

Educational Credentials

• Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from a top-tier, accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.

Core Competencies

• Legal Acumen: Strong skills in research, writing, and analytical reasoning.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute innovative defense strategies.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Demonstrated capacity to work in teams and mentor junior attorneys.

Additional Attributes

• Foreign Language Skills: While not mandatory, fluency in foreign languages is a plus.
