Battle Ground Academy is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to join its upper/middle school faculty in 2025-2026. Founded in 1889, BGA is a K-12th grade college preparatory school located in Franklin, TN. Serving a diverse student population from the surrounding counties, the school embodies the core values of character, scholarship, and excellence in all facets of campus life.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching middle or high school in an independent school setting, as well as prior knowledge of project-based learning and/or the design thinking process. More importantly, he/she will be comfortable teaching in a student-centered learning environment. A Bachelor’s degree is required and advanced degrees are preferred. Candidates should be passionate about incorporating a humanities-based approach in class, as well as developing essential skills necessary for today’s adolescent learners.
Like all BGA faculty members, the successful candidate should expect to develop healthy and lasting relationships with students, inspire them to reach their full academic and personal potential, model the school’s core values on a daily basis, and contribute to the broader life of the school community. He/she will join the faculty at an exciting time and will be instrumental in the ongoing progress and growth of the division.
BGA is the oldest school in Franklin, a remarkable city located just 20 miles south of Nashville. It has been referred to as “a small-town gem” by the New York Times. The downtown is filled with locally owned shops, restaurants, and Main Street is home to iconic venues such as the Franklin Theater. A key site of the American Civil War, the City of Franklin features an abundance of historical sites and parks appealing to those who enjoy history and/or the outdoors.
