Position Summary:
Responsible for the collection, sorting, washing, drying, folding and distribution of all laundry/linen in accordance with the current state and federal guidelines and regulations and established policies and procedures of Winner Regional Health. Other duties as assigned.

Employment Variables:
Work hours include day shift. Required to rotate weekends and holidays. Shifts and hours may vary according to work load. Initial Tuberculosis (TB) test and drug screening is required by Winner Regional Health. Rubella titer will also be drawn upon hire and immunization is required if no past exposure or indication of immunization.
Required to wear name tag provided by WRH and to follow the dress code of WRH.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to operate all equipment in the department. Ability to deal with people in a professional manner.

Laundry Aide Duties
Demonstrates proper techniques for lifting, pushing and pulling. Practices and supports all equipment safety procedures. Exercises care when transporting linen, utilizes safety measures. Manages all sharps in appropriate manner.
Quality Linens
Properly sorts all dirty/torn linen to proper area. Stacks linen in a neat and orderly fashion. Ensures proper number of linens is delivered.
Production Numbers
Maintains complete and accurate records daily. Prints legibly and clearly. Records all pertinent dates.
Communication
Demonstrates politeness, “please” and “thank you”. Expresses thoughts clearly and pleasantly. Listens well, ask questions if necessary.
Linen Care
Transports all torn and stained linen to proper area. Folds all linen in accordance with department policy. Shows ability to accurately weigh out linen items.

Compliance Must comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations and standards of conduct relating to the position. The employee has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law or the standards of conduct to the Compliance Officer or the Chief Executive Officer.
