Laundry Attendant

DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping

REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager

STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

Processing laundry for the Hotel Rooms and Food & Beverage Departments in accordance with hotel standards and productivity level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· To provide clean and pressed linens for all areas of the hotel and the guests

· To sort linens

· To operate washing and drying machines

· To operate the iron

· To operate the towel folder

· To hand fold linens, spa sheets, bath mats, robes, and hand towels

· To count and store linens

· To maintain productivity standards

· To keep the work areas and equipment neat and clean 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Desirable: fluency in English

· Organizational skills.

· Ability to follow instructions accurately.

· Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.

· Ability to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

· Ability to be well groomed, clean and neat.

· Ability to work with a minimum of supervision; maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.

EXPERIENCE:

· Previous Housekeeping experience helpful.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

· Perform strenuous activities such as standing for extended periods (over 4 ours a day); walking (over 4 hours a day); stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, twisting (over 4 hours a day); and manipulating large and small objects.

· Carrying or lifting 50 pounds

· Repetitive tasks

· Fast-paced work environment

REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

· Closed toe, non-canvas and non-skid soled shoes.
