Laundry Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel and spa. In all interactions, the position is responsible for providing STAR Experience to guests and fellow team members a first priority. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Shooting Star Casino team members will always deliver excellent guest service to our guests and fellow co-workers.

Cleans all linen to include terry, blankets, bedding, drapery, shower curtains and other related material to enhance the guest experience at Shooting Star Casino, Hotel & Event Center.

• Wash and dries all linens.


• Sorts and inspects soiled laundry for stains or damage.  Performs stain removal as needed and reports damaged items.


• Set aside stained and/or damaged items for inventory review.


• Sorts, counts, and folds clean linen according to policy and procedure.


• If guest items are found bring to housekeeping Dispatch/Supervisor office.


• Clean guest rooms as needed.


• Swap out chemicals on Ecolab machine when needed.

Stocks cart rooms with assorted linen and terry to ensure adequate supply is on hand to meet the needs of housekeeping staff.

• Carries linens to assigned areas according to approved procedures.


• Bring filled bed changing bins to assigned areas.

Maintains laundry room in a neat, clean and orderly fashion to enhance the efficiency of laundry operations.

• Walks floor during day to pick up garbage & laundry.


• Sweep and mop floor.


• Organize supplies.


• Report machine malfunctions when needed.


• Provide preventive maintenance on machines as needed (cleaning of lint traps, etc.).

Professionalism

• Maintain a clean and professional appearance while on duty.


• Adhere to departmental uniform policy.


• Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings as assigned.


• Complete reports as required. 

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

No minimum education or experience required; 2 months related experience and/or training preferred.

Certificates, Licenses & Designations

Must meet the requirements as prescribed by the Tribal-State compact for Gaming.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Knowledge of Hotel policies and procedures regarding housekeeping.


• Skill in basic math including addition and subtraction.


• Ability to follow procedures and give attention to detail.


• Ability to frequently stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).


• Ability to frequently walk for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).


• Ability to frequently stoop or bend.


• Ability to frequently squat.


• Ability to frequently climb step stools.


• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push and pull over 50 pounds.


• Ability to operate vacuum and carpet cleaning equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Frequent exposure to loud noise level.


• Frequent exposure to cigarette smoke.


• Occasional exposure to blood borne pathogens.


• Frequent exposure to dust, dirt and debris.


• Frequent exposure to hazardous chemicals, solutions and solvents.
