Laundry Supervisor

Position Description:

Laundry Supervisor for Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation, Medora, ND. 

•  Determine specific daily work assignments for the laundry crew according to motel occupancy.
•  Monitor the progress of the laundry personnel each day to ensure employees are working to standards within the allotted amount of time.
• Coordinate linen handling such as daily sorting and inventory, clean linen distribution, solid linen collection, and storage room organization.
•  Determine specific daily work assignments for the laundry supervisors and the    laundry crew according to motel occupancy.
•  Transport and deliver laundry to the motel properties and TRMF employee housing locations.
•  Adhere to rules for exchanging dirty linens with clean linens.
•  Learn where all motel utilities are located and how they should be stocked.
• Collaborate with food operations in Medora to coordinate laundering of rags, aprons, napkins, tablecloths, etc.
•  Maintain safe, productive, and comfortable work environment for staff members.
•  Report safety hazards and take measures to prevent and review accidents by completing regular safety meetings in accordance with TRMF policies.
•  Train employees on and enforce the correct use of chemicals and equipment.
•  Evaluate seasonal staff in accordance with TRMF policy.

Requirements:

Requires a HS diploma or GED (foreign equivalent acceptable) and one year of experience as a laundry attendant or occupation in housekeeping or laundering.

Must possess six months of supervisory experience in laundering or housekeeping. Must possess or be able to obtain North Dakota Driver’s License or driver’s license from any state within the U.S. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods and frequently pull, push, and bend. Must be able to lift, carry or otherwise move up to 40 lbs. at times. Must work a rotation of seven-day workweek during tourist season, which generally spans June through September.
