We are currently seeking a Law Clerk with an interest in Workers’ Compensation law and a desire to grow into a full-fledged applicant attorney role.
About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity for a candidate to receive hands-on training and mentorship with the goal of transitioning into an attorney position upon licensure. You will be working directly under the supervision of experienced attorneys and case managers, learning the ins and outs of WC litigation and client advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys with case preparation, legal research, and writing
- Draft pleadings, settlement documents, and correspondence
- Attend depositions, hearings, and client meetings (under attorney supervision)
- Assist with discovery and trial preparation
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and adjusters
- Learn MerusCase and other case management tools
- Take on increasing responsibilities with the goal of assuming your own caseload after bar admission
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Spanish fluency (written and verbal) is preferred
- Recently sat for the California Bar Exam (or awaiting results)
- Interest in Workers’ Compensation law and applicant-side advocacy
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Compassionate, client-centered, and ready to learn
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, team-driven environment
