LBS1 Education Specialist– (Resource Room Setting)!

We are currently seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students in a resource room setting. This role involves working with students who have diverse learning, emotional, physical, and developmental needs, helping them reach their highest potential.

About the Position:

As a Special Education Teacher, you will develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning requirements. You will foster a structured and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic and personal growth. Through continuous assessment, you will monitor student progress and refine instructional strategies as needed.

Collaboration is essential in this role—you will work closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure comprehensive student support. You will also adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles while fostering the development of social and emotional skills.

Requirements

Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field, along with a valid Illinois teaching license that includes an LBS1 endorsement. A strong foundation in development and behavior management practices is essential for success in this role. Although prior experience supporting young children with disabilities is preferred, the ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and support staff is equally important to ensure each child’s progress and overall development.
