RJ Lee Group, Inc. is currently seeking an LCMS Expert to lead the analytical functions of our LCMS Group.
Job Description: The LCMS Expert will be involved in overseeing every aspect of the operation of the LCMS Group which consists of both Tandem Mass Spectrometry and High Resolution Mass Spectrometry. Primary responsibilities include developing new LCMS methods, data quality review, reporting, maintaining instrumentation, and interacting with clients via issuing reports or teleconferences. Sample preparation or analysis is expected on an as-needed basis.
Other responsibilities include establishing appropriate QA for new methods, collaborations with other scientists for diverse projects, and improving laboratory operations through efficiency gains. The Expert will collaborate with multiple groups within the organization including the Analytical Services Group, which consists of the chemistry labs (inorganic and organic) and the Technical Consulting Group. Project leadership, stewardship, and ownership will be expected. Literature review and litigation support may also be expected.
Key Qualifications
Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry with a minimum 3 years of experience in LCMS related work
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of analytical methods and troubleshooting processes.
Expertise in LC/MS/MS systems and operation.
Experience in the analysis of environmental PFAS samples by LC/MS/MS.
Experience with troubleshooting and maintaining LC and LC/MS/MS systems (Shimadzu preferred, but not required)
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
Experience writing and reviewing SOPs and technical literature
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience working at a commercial laboratory using different characterization techniques will be strongly preferred
Experience with EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, ASTM, USP/NF, FCC preparation and analysis method and protocols
Demonstrated experience in preparation of environmental samples for chemical analysis.
Experience with extraction of drinking water EPA Method 537.1 and/or EPA Method 533 and Method 1633
Experience with DoD Quality Systems Manual (QSM) 5.3 Table B-15 requirements for PFAS extraction and analysis
Experience in the analysis of environmental Pesticide/PCB samples
Experience developing new methods
Experience operating under national and state accreditations
The position could require travel and or working after normal business hours
