Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced LDRP Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Salida, Colorado.
This role is ideal for an RN with at least 2 years of recent maternal-child nursing experience who is comfortable caring for patients throughout the full Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum continuum.
The LDRP RN will provide direct nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, immediate recovery, postpartum, and newborn transition. Candidates should be confident with maternal and fetal assessment, labor management, postpartum care, newborn care, and emergency response.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum.
· Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments.
· Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and uterine activity.
· Assess labor progression and recognize changes in maternal or fetal condition.
· Support patients during spontaneous labor, induction, and delivery.
· Assist physicians and other providers during vaginal deliveries and obstetric procedures.
· Prepare and support patients requiring cesarean delivery.
· Provide immediate postpartum care and monitor maternal recovery.
· Perform newborn assessments and provide routine newborn care.
· Support neonatal stabilization and resuscitation when needed.
· Administer medications, IV fluids, and other therapies according to provider orders.
· Educate patients and families regarding labor, recovery, breastfeeding, newborn care, and discharge instructions.
· Support breastfeeding, bonding, and family-centered care.
· Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
· Participate in shift handoffs and interdisciplinary communication.
· Follow patient-safety, infection-control, and maternal-child care standards.
· Respond appropriately to obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have:
· Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado
· Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably in Labor & Delivery or LDRP
· Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited nursing program
· Current BLS certification
· Current NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program
· Strong maternal and fetal assessment skills
· Ability to work independently in an LDRP environment
· Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
Strong candidates may also have:
· ACLS certification
· More than 2 years of recent LDRP or Labor & Delivery experience
· Postpartum nursing experience
· Nursery or newborn-care experience
· Electronic fetal monitoring experience
· High-risk obstetric experience
· Previous travel nursing experience
· Experience working in a community or rural hospital setting

Schedule Requirements
· Night Shift
· Three 12-hour shifts per week
· 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
· 36 hours per week
· Weekend and holiday coverage may be required based on department scheduling.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced LDRP or Labor & Delivery RN who can provide safe, compassionate care to mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth experience.
You should have strong maternal-fetal assessment skills, solid newborn-care knowledge, and the ability to remain calm and effective during urgent obstetric or neonatal situations.
