Lead - Assembly Line

At this time, the Plover facility is primarily medical kitting in a clean, climate controlled environment.  

The Assembly Line Lead is tasked with leading a team of assembly workers, per work instructions and procedures, to ensure quality products are being produced according to the customer schedules, with all variances being reported to the supervisor immediately.  This position requires the ability to engage and motivate a team, communicate professionally, and use critical thinking skills on a daily basis.  This is a first shift position with a normal schedule of 6:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.  The environment is clean, climate controlled and comfortable.

Responsibilities:

• Leads team of assembly workers and temporary employees per work instructions and procedures.
• Train employees how to perform assign tasks.
• Monitor break times to ensure that employees report back to work areas as scheduled.
• Monitors job quality by performing frequent quality inspections. Reports issues/problems in a timely manner to coordinator or supervisor for resolution.
• Completes all paperwork required for the position and maintains it according to procedures.
• Lead operation of equipment, such as shrink wrap, bag seal, label application, etc.
• Operate pallet jack to move pallets as needed.
• Labels, packs, stacks, folds, tapes and inserts material/product per work instructions and procedures.
• Maintain and meet production and schedule targets.
• Adhere to quality control procedures.
• Is able to complete expected tasks with required operating systems.
• Communicates effectively, efficiently, and appropriately with all employees and contract workers. 2
• Follows all safety procedures and reports suggested improvements or concerns to the supervisor.
• Participates in insuring the warehouse is clean and organized and informs supervisor of suggestions or concerns.
• Participates in periodic staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.
• Participates in training and development programs as required of the position.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Specifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1-2 years in a warehouse fulfillment and distribution environment preferred.
• Must have the ability to read and and comprehend written and electronic job related materials including work instructions, safety documentation, and quality specifications.
• Must be able to engage and motivate a team, promoting teamwork on a consistent basis.
• Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or co-workers at level of detail required to resolve issues.
• Must have an organized approach to task completion and excellent attention to detail.
• Must be detail oriented, efficient, self motivated, and have good cognitive skills.
• Must have the ability to work independently at a fast pace within a team environment.  Must be production, quality and process oriented.
• Basic math skills

• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to use hands to handle, or feel product, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
• The employee is frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Must have ability to lift and handle cartons up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 40 pounds on a continuous basis.
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime when required.
• Must follow RR Donnelley safety guidelines.

Disclosure Statement:

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $18.00 to 21.50 / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
