Job Description - Lead Bartender

Description

La Posada Hotel is seeking an experienced and dynamic Lead Bartender to oversee bar operations and deliver exceptional beverage experiences for our guests. This role combines bartending expertise with leadership responsibilities, including supervising bar staff, ensuring quality service, and maintaining a well-organized bar environment. Where You Can Make an Impact:

  • Prepare and serve high-quality beverages, including craft cocktails, beer, and wine, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supervise and train bar staff, ensuring adherence to company service standards and procedures.
  • Assist in creating and updating beverage menus, incorporating innovative and guest-favorite options.
  • Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and manage ordering to maintain a fully stocked bar.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper storage and handling of alcohol.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by engaging with customers, addressing questions, and handling special requests.
  • Oversee cash handling and ensure accurate processing of transactions at the bar.
  • Resolve any guest concerns or staff issues promptly and professionally.
  • Assist with scheduling and assigning tasks to bartenders to optimize team performance.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, ensuring a welcoming and efficient workspace.

Requirements

Education/Formal Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bartending certification preferred.
  • TABC and Food Handlers certificate required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of bartending experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of mixology, beverage trends, and alcohol regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to mentor and guide staff effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to create memorable guest experiences.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage bar operations and inventory efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
