Lead Bartender- Be apart of the BALEEN Team!

The Job:
As a Lead Bartender, you will set the tone for our bar experience by leading with creativity, professionalism, and a passion for hospitality. You’ll not only craft high-quality beverages but also help oversee bar operations, support your team, and ensure consistency in service and presentation. You’ll work closely with our management team to maintain a welcoming and efficient bar environment for both guests and locals. This is a highly visible leadership role with the ability to create lasting impressions and elevate the guest experience every day.

You:
To thrive in this role, you are a natural leader with a passion for guest service, teamwork, and bartending. You have a strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine—and an eye for detail that ensures quality and consistency. The ideal Lead Bartender is calm under pressure, a great communicator, and someone who leads by example, helping to train and inspire other bartenders while fostering a positive and professional bar culture.

Your team and working environment:

The Portofino Hotel offers a delightful array of amenities and activities in our prime South Bay location just a stone’s throw from the communities of Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Manhattan Beach. With 168 rooms, multiple F&B outlets, banquets, guest activities, and a 181-slip marina, your days are filled with diverse operations and a vibrant team culture.

 Your experience and skills include:
· Refined verbal communication skills
· Experience in taking care of guests in a fast-paced environment
· Strong leadership and teamwork abilities
· Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift moderate weights
· Current Food Handlers Card and TIPS certification required
· Previous bartending and supervisory experience preferred
