Job Description - Lead Building Engineer

This position is for the newly constructed Lucas Museum’s campus, an innovative new cultural landmark for Los Angeles. The home of the new Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is an 11-acre campus with a landscape consisting of trees, gardens, walkways, and architectural features that embrace nearly 300,000-square-foot. The Lead Building Engineer is the on-site representative of the building owner and is the main point of contact of the stadium operations leadership team on a day-to-day basis. This person is responsible for the overall satisfactory performance of all maintenance and coordinating all engineering operations of the facility. This position will report directly to the Chief Engineer.

This is a Union position

Compensation: $56.31 Hourly
The pay listed is the hourly rate for this position.
Location: One Lucas Plaza, Los Angeles, CA
Work Schedule: Daytime hours and some weekends

 
Benefit Information:
 This is a union position and as such, will include union benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

    • Ensure that the on-site staff conforms to all local laws, codes, and regulations.
    • Establish a program for the acquisition, storage and accountability of all operating materials, tools, and equipment. Establish a customer approved inventory control system.
    • Ensure that work responsibilities are allocated properly among subordinates by developing and implementing manpower schedules and work methods and procedures that are designed to obtain low cost and efficient operation.
    • Establish performance standards for each phase of work, adhering to standard practices and quality levels.
    • Carry out policies and procedures of the customer and ABM concerning safety, administrative requirements, standards, practices, and work methods.
    • Assist the Sr. Director of Engineering in the implementation of an effective preventative maintenance program, completion of service requests, and other assigned duties to efficiently handle client business needs. 
    • Perform any additional duties on an as required basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual limitations.

Qualifications

    • 4+ years of facility engineering experience including HVAC, operation of RTU’s, Chillers, BAS, heating hot water systems, pneumatic/electrical controls, electrical/emergency systems, plumbing and mechanical general maintenance.
    • Certified HVAC-Universal License 
    • Skilled in electrical systems UPS and Generator systems
    • Skilled with Stadium Electrical Power infrastructure
    • Skilled with Stadium lighting control equipment and lighting systems
    • Demonstrated superior customer service and communication skills.
    • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule in support of events.
    • Must be available to contact 24 x 7 for facility emergencies.
    • Must be able to operate a PC utilizing MS Office and CMMS software.
$56.31 - $56.31 an hour
